Learn how to set up and get the most out of Viktor.

Team Members and Roles

Invite teammates to your Viktor team, manage pending invites, change roles between Admin and Member, and remove people.

Your Viktor team is everyone who has a seat in your workspace. The Team page lists them, holds pending invites, and is where admins change roles and remove people. Open it from Team in the app sidebar, or go to app.viktor.com/settings/team.

Roles

Viktor has two roles: Admin and Member.

  • Admins invite and remove teammates, change roles, create groups, and manage workspace settings. The role picker describes it as: "Admins can manage teammates, billing, and integrations."
  • Members can see the Team page and use Viktor, but the management actions are hidden or disabled for them.

Admin-only screens include Permissions, Usage, and Audit Logs. See Settings overview for who can open each settings tab.

The Team page

The page has these tabs:

  • Team members: everyone on the team, with Pending invites listed first. Admins show an Admin badge.
  • Groups: named sets of teammates you can share Spaces with in one step.
  • Others on your domain: admins only. It appears when you sign in with a company email domain and there are other people on that domain to invite.

In Slack workspaces, admins also see a Check Slack members button. It checks every current team member against Slack and removes any members Slack marks as deactivated or deleted. Viktor asks you to confirm first.

Invite teammates

Admins invite from the Team members tab.

  1. Open Team.
  2. In the search box (Search teammates, or invite by name or email), type an email address. You can also paste a whole list.
  3. Viktor shows an Invite by email card with the addresses it found. Addresses marked · already on the team or · already invited are skipped.
  4. Select Send invite (or Send N invites).

In a Slack workspace you can also pick people from the Invite your teammates to Viktor section and select Invite via Slack.

How the invite arrives:

  • If the address belongs to someone in your connected Slack workspace, Viktor sends them a Slack DM.
  • Otherwise they get an email with the subject "You're invited to join *your team* on Viktor" and a join link.

The pending invite shows **Invited *when* · via Slack or · via email. Select Resend** on a pending invite to send it again.

Invites expire after 7 days. Inviting the same address again while an invite is still valid reuses that invite instead of creating a new one.

Let Viktor invite teammates for you

On Team settings, admins can turn on Automatic teammate invites. When it is on, Viktor sends a direct message to people in your connected Slack workspace inviting them to join your team.

Accept an invite

  1. Open the link from the invite email or Slack DM.
  2. Sign in with the same email address the invite was sent to.
  3. Accept the invite. You join the team with the Member role.

If your Viktor account already belongs to another workspace, accepting creates a separate account for the new workspace and signs you in to it. Your other workspace and its subscription stay as they are.

Change someone's role

  1. Open Team and select the person.
  2. On the Access tab, choose Admin or Member under Role.
  3. Viktor confirms with Role updated.

You can't change your own role. Ask another admin.

Revoke an invite or remove a member

  1. Open Team.
  2. Open the More options menu on the row.
  3. Select Revoke invite for a pending invite, or Remove member for someone on the team.
  4. Confirm with Revoke or Remove.

You can't remove yourself this way. To leave Viktor entirely, delete your account instead (see Data and privacy).

Groups

Groups bundle teammates so you can share Spaces with many people at once. Admins create and edit them.

  1. Open the Groups tab on the Team page.
  2. Select New group, enter a Group name, and add teammates.
  3. Select Create group.

Groups synced from Slack are labeled Synced from Slack. Deleting a group removes access to Spaces shared with that group for its members. See Space access and domains.

Common problems

  • "User is already a team member": that address already has a seat. Nothing is sent.
  • Someone can't find their invite: check which address you invited. Invites only work for the email they were sent to, and they expire after 7 days. Select Resend to send it again.
  • "This record owns Viktor's workspace data and cannot be removed": this account holds the workspace's data. Remove the person's separate member profile instead, or contact support if there is none.
  • You don't see the invite box or role picker: you are a Member. Ask an admin. Only admins can change roles.
  • Signed in to the wrong workspace: see Wrong workspace.
