Add Viktor to Microsoft Teams
Install the Viktor app in Microsoft Teams from the setup wizard and start your first chat with him.
Adding Viktor to Microsoft Teams lets you message him in a Teams chat and mention @Viktor in channels where the app is installed. You add the app from the setup wizard, then confirm so setup can continue.
Install Viktor
- Go to app.viktor.com/signup and choose Continue with Microsoft Teams.
- Sign in with your Microsoft account.
- The wizard shows "Add Viktor to Microsoft Teams". Under Add Viktor in Microsoft Teams, choose Add Viktor to Microsoft Teams. Teams' app install dialog opens in a new tab.
- Add the Viktor app in Teams.
- Come back to the wizard. Under Confirm and continue, choose I've added Viktor to Teams.
If the Teams tab didn't open or you closed it, choose Open Teams install again.
If Viktor is already connected to Teams, the wizard skips this step.
If your organization already uses Viktor
If Viktor is already set up for your Microsoft organization in another Viktor workspace, the wizard shows "Your team is already on Viktor" instead. Choose Join followed by the workspace name (or Join your company's workspace) to join it rather than installing again.
Finish setup
After the install, the wizard asks a few questions and helps you pick and connect tools. See The setup wizard for those steps.
The last screen reads "Now go to Teams!". Choose Open Microsoft Teams, or Add more integrations to connect more tools first.
In Teams, find Viktor in your chat list, or mention @Viktor in any channel where the app is installed.
Viktor's first message
When you finish the tool steps, Viktor starts his setup and sends you a message in Teams. It explains how to work with him. Viktor sets this up once per installer. The exact wording can differ between workspaces.
Limits by plan and permission
- Only an admin installs Viktor. Members who are not admins skip the install step.
- Viktor's first message goes to the person who installed him.
- No plan limit applies to installing Viktor in Microsoft Teams. For what each plan includes, see Plans and credits.
- The Viktor web app's chat currently needs a Slack-linked account. See Use Viktor in the web app.
Common problems
- "Viktor couldn't start the first Teams chat automatically." Open Viktor in a Teams personal chat once, or mention @Viktor in a channel where the app is installed.
- "Could not start the Teams install. Please try again." Choose Add Viktor to Microsoft Teams again.
- "Could not confirm Teams setup." Make sure you added the Viktor app in Teams, then choose I've added Viktor to Teams again.
- "Could not load your Microsoft Teams. Please try reconnecting." Sign in again with your Microsoft account.
- "Could not join your company's workspace. Please try again." Try the join button again.
- Sign-in is blocked by your organization. See Cannot sign in to Viktor.
