Show Viktor a workflow once. Record your screen and talk through your steps, or upload a recording you already have. Viktor watches it, writes a reusable skill, and proposes a draft automation. Nothing runs until you approve it.

How it works

The Teach Viktor page shows three steps:

1. Record or upload: do the task once, the way you always do it, and talk through your decisions.
2. Viktor watches & drafts: he writes a step-by-step skill and a draft automation with a safe test run.
3. Approve in Slack: Viktor DMs you what he learned. Check the sample, fix anything, then set it live.

Record your screen

1. Open Teach Viktor. You can also get there from the Skills home page: select Record a walkthrough.
2. Under Record your screen, select Start recording.
3. Pick a tab, a window or your whole screen. Your microphone is on for narration.
4. Do the task and narrate your decisions. For example: "I filter to last month, then export."
5. Select Finish recording.
6. Optionally, add a note under Anything Viktor should know?
7. Select Send to Viktor, or Discard to start over.

Upload a recording

1. Open Teach Viktor.
2. Under Upload a recording, select Browse files, or drag and drop a file.
3. Add an optional note and select Send to Viktor.

Loom exports, QuickTime captures and Slack clips all work. Accepted formats are .mp4, .webm, .mov, .mpeg, .mpg and .avi.

After you send it

The page shows Viktor is watching your recording. What happens next depends on whether your Viktor account is linked to Slack:

• Linked to Slack: Viktor DMs you shortly with what he learned and a proposed automation. Nothing runs until you approve it there.
• Not linked to Slack: Viktor still learns the workflow. The skill appears on the Skills page, and any proposed automation appears on the Tasks page as a paused draft. Ask Viktor in chat for the full summary.

Select Teach another workflow to record the next one.

If you work in Slack, you can skip the page: send Viktor a clip and say "learn this".

Limits by plan and permission

• Any member of a workspace can use Teach Viktor. The code sets no plan limit on it.
• The page lists the length and file size it accepts. The server can still reject a recording with "Recording is over the … limit".
• Draft automations stay paused until you approve them. See Scheduled tasks.

Common problems

• "Unsupported format". Convert the file to one of the accepted formats, such as MP4, MOV or WebM.
• The page or the server says the recording is too large ("Recording is over the … limit"). Trim the recording, or record a shorter session, and send it again.
• "Could not send the recording — please try again". Check your connection and send it again.
• No DM from Viktor. If your profile has no linked Slack account, Viktor cannot DM you. Look for the skill on the Skills page and the paused draft on the Tasks page.
• Start recording is missing. Your browser does not support screen recording. Upload a recording instead.
