Learn how to set up and get the most out of Viktor.

Manage Your Subscription

Upgrade or downgrade your Viktor plan, update your payment method, get invoices, fix a failed payment and cancel.

Admins manage the workspace's subscription on the Billing page at app.viktor.com/settings/subscription. Payment details and invoices live in the Stripe billing portal, which opens from that page.

Upgrade your plan

  1. On the Billing page, click Upgrade your plan. If you cancelled and the plan is still active, the button reads Manage subscription and opens the billing portal instead.
  2. In Choose your plan, pick a larger plan. The dialog shows what you pay today and the credits added today.
  3. Confirm.

An upgrade is charged right away, prorated for the rest of the billing period. The larger plan applies once that payment goes through. If a renewal payment is still unpaid, you can't upgrade until you pay it. See fix a failed payment.

Downgrade your plan

  1. On the Billing page, click Manage, then choose Downgrade to a smaller plan. You can also pick a smaller plan in Choose your plan.
  2. Pick the smaller plan.
  3. Read Downgrade your plan?: "Downgrading doesn't add any extra credits. Your current balance stays the same." It shows the date from which you pay the new price and receive the new monthly credits.
  4. Click Continue, tell us why, and click Continue downgrade.

You keep the larger plan's credits until your next renewal.

Update your payment method, billing details or invoices

  1. On the Billing page, click Manage.
  2. Choose Update payment method or invoices.
  3. The Stripe billing portal opens. Update your card or billing address, or open and download invoices.
  4. When you are done, return to Viktor from the portal.

You can also open the portal directly at app.viktor.com/settings/subscription/billing-portal.

Fix a failed payment

If a renewal payment fails, the app shows a Payment required banner: "Your subscription payment is past due."

  • Retry payment (admins) charges the open invoice now.
  • Update Payment Method opens the billing portal so you can change your card.
  • Pay with another card opens the invoice so you can pay it with a different card.

Cancel your subscription

  1. On the Billing page, click Manage.
  2. Choose Cancel subscription ("End renewal after the current billing period.").
  3. Read Cancel your subscription?, then click I understand, continue with cancellation.
  4. In Cancel your subscription, answer Why are you cancelling? and What can we change for you in Viktor to not cancel?. Both are required. Click Continue to cancellation.
  5. Finish cancelling in the Stripe billing portal.

After you cancel, the plan card shows Subscription cancelled · Active until {date}. To undo it, click Manage subscription and reactivate in the portal.

Annual plans

Annual plans are no longer offered. If you are on one, the plan dialog says We've discontinued annual plans. You can stay on your plan as long as you like. If you change plan, you can only switch to a monthly plan.

On an annual plan, your monthly credits refill every 30 days while the subscription is active and paid.

Limits by plan and permission

  • Admins only: changing plans, top-ups, the billing portal, retrying payments and cancelling. Others see "You are not authorized to access this subscription." when they try to open the portal.
  • Starter: there is no subscription to manage. Choose a plan first.
  • Enterprise: admins see Billing details instead of Manage. Enterprise subscriptions can't be cancelled in the portal: "Enterprise teams cannot cancel subscriptions through the billing portal. Please contact support…". An Enterprise agreement can also set a minimum plan for self-serve changes.

Common problems

"This plan is no longer available. Choose a current plan." The plan was retired. Pick one from the current list.

My upgrade didn't go through. If a renewal payment is unpaid, you see "Your latest monthly renewal payment hasn't gone through yet, so your plan was not changed." Pay the open invoice, then try again.

"Could not open the billing portal right now." Try again in a moment. Only admins can open the portal.

I need a tax or VAT ID on my invoice. See payment method and tax details.
