Learn how to set up and get the most out of Viktor.

Add Viktor to Discord

Add Viktor to your Discord server, at sign-up or to a Slack workspace you already have, and start your first task.

Adding Viktor to Discord puts him in your server. Your team can then mention @Viktor in a channel or send him a direct message. You don't need Slack or Microsoft Teams. To add him, you need permission to manage the server in Discord.

Add Viktor when you sign up

  1. Go to app.viktor.com/signup and pick Discord as the place your team works.
  2. Create your account with your email and the sign-in code we send you. Discord isn't a sign-in option the way Slack and Microsoft Teams are, so your Viktor account uses your email.
  3. The setup wizard sends you to Discord. Pick your server and authorize Viktor.

Viktor posts a welcome message in the server's system channel, if it has one.

Add Discord to a workspace you already have

If your team already uses Viktor in Slack, add Discord to the same workspace so Viktor keeps the same memory, skills and integrations:

  1. Open Integrations in the Viktor app.
  2. Find AI Employee (Discord) and click Connect.
  3. On Discord's screen, pick your server and authorize Viktor.

AI Employee (Discord) is not the same as the plain Discord tool connection in the integrations list. That one only lets Viktor send messages to a channel. To talk to Viktor in your server, use AI Employee (Discord).

Talk to Viktor in Discord

  • In a channel: mention @Viktor in your message. He adds a ⏳ reaction while he works, then replies to your message.
  • In a direct message: message him directly. If you are in more than one server with Viktor, he asks which one you mean. If you share no server with him yet, he asks you to mention him in a server first.
  • Approvals: before a sensitive action, Viktor posts Approve and Reject buttons. When someone approves, the button shows who approved it and Viktor carries on.
  • Long answers and files: Viktor splits answers longer than Discord's message limit and attaches finished files to his reply.

What Viktor can see

Viktor only receives messages that mention him and direct messages sent to him. He runs without Discord's privileged message content access, so other messages in your server never reach him.

When you add him, Viktor asks for these server permissions: View Channels, Send Messages, Send Messages in Threads, Embed Links, Attach Files, Read Message History and Add Reactions.

Remove Viktor

Remove Viktor from your server in Discord (kick the app). That ends his access to the server.
