Viktor gets better at working with you as you work with him. He remembers your preferences and your team's facts in skills. For the whole workspace, you can also set his personality and give him standing instructions in Settings.

Preferences Viktor learns about you

When you share a lasting preference, goal, correction or fact about yourself, Viktor records it in your personal skill in the same run. He does this even when your actual request was something else. For example, if you say "keep summaries to short bullets" while asking for a report, he writes the report and saves the preference.

Next time, the preference is already applied.

To see what Viktor has recorded about you, open Skills and select About you under Yours. Only you can see it. See Skills for details.

When your personal skill grows long, Viktor compresses it to keep it useful. Overnight compaction is controlled by Skill refining → Personal preference skills in Team settings. It is on by default for new workspaces and off for workspaces that existed before the setting shipped. Only admins can change it.

Team and company facts

When someone shares a lasting fact about the team, such as who owns what or who holds which role, Viktor records it in the workspace's shared team skill. Company information, team structure and preferences live in a shared company skill. Both are shared with the whole workspace, so everyone benefits.

For example: "We renamed EMEA to International."

Set Viktor's personality

1. Go to Settings → Behavior.
2. Under Employee personality ("Choose a default tone for Viktor responses."), pick one:
3. - Standard: "Viktor's default voice with no extra personality guidance."
4. - Pragmatic: "Direct, practical, and candid about risks."
5. - Warm: "Friendly, collaborative, and clear."
6. The change applies right away. You see Personality updated.

Write workspace instructions

1. Go to Settings → Behavior.
2. Under Workspace instructions, type the instructions and context Viktor should always follow. Select Examples for ideas, such as "Always write in English in public channels." or "Do not use emojis."
3. Select Save changes. You see Workspace instructions saved.

Instructions can be up to 4,000 characters. The counter below the box shows how many you have used.

Change them from chat

You can also ask Viktor to change his personality or the workspace instructions, for example: "Switch your personality to Pragmatic." Viktor asks for approval before he applies the change. See Approvals.

Limits by plan and permission

• Personality and workspace instructions are workspace-wide. They apply to Viktor for everyone in the workspace, not only to you.
• Any workspace member can change them on the Behavior page. There is no admin check.
• Any team member can approve a personality or instructions change that Viktor requests in chat. Other workspace settings need an admin to approve.
• Workspace instructions are limited to 4,000 characters.
• Your personal skill is private to you. Team and company facts are shared with the whole workspace.
• The code sets no plan limit on any of these.

Common problems

• Viktor ignores a preference. Tell him again, and say it is a standing preference. He records lasting preferences and corrections in your personal skill. Check About you on the Skills page to see what he saved.
• A teammate changed Viktor's tone. Personality and workspace instructions are shared by the whole workspace. Agree on them as a team.
• "Failed to update personality" or "Failed to save workspace instructions". Reload the page and try again.
• The instructions box stops accepting text. You reached the 4,000-character limit. Shorten the instructions.
