Learn how to set up and get the most out of Viktor.

Data and Privacy

What teammates can see through Viktor, how each person's data is kept apart, and how to disconnect Slack or delete your account or workspace.

Viktor works on behalf of whoever asks him. This page covers what that means for privacy between teammates, what admins can see, and how to disconnect Slack or delete your account or workspace.

What Viktor can read for each person

When someone asks Viktor something in Slack, he acts as that person. His Slack reads are limited to what that person could see:

  • Public channels: all of them for workspace members. Slack guests and external people only get the channels they are in.
  • Private channels, DMs and group DMs: only the ones the person asking is a member of.
  • Runs with no identified person behind them never read DMs.

This means asking Viktor does not give you access to a teammate's private channels or DMs.

How files are kept apart

Viktor works in a sandbox. Inside it, each person has their own isolated space. Files Viktor creates for one person, his run logs, and personal preference skills stay separate from other teammates.

What admins can see

Admins have extra views of the workspace:

  • Usage: Team usage shows credits by person, and Activity shows an activity feed. Members can't open these pages. See Check usage.
  • Audit logs (Enterprise): access and configuration changes, and with Full capture, integration tool calls with the data in and out. See Audit logs.
  • Personal spend limits (Enterprise): admins can cap a teammate's credits from the Team usage table with Set credit spend limit. A capped person is told: "Your personal spend limit has been reached. Reach out to your admin to increase your cap." On other plans the menu shows Upgrade to Enterprise to set spend limits.

Admins also control who can use Viktor at all. See Workspace permissions.

Disconnect Slack

An admin can stop Viktor from accessing your Slack workspace.

  1. Open My account or Team settings.
  2. On the Slack Connection card, open More Slack actions.
  3. Select Disconnect… and confirm Disconnect Slack for your workspace? ("This will stop Viktor from accessing Slack data until you reconnect.")

Disconnect + Uninstall… also removes the Viktor app from Slack. You'll need to reinstall the app in Slack before reconnecting.

Members see "Contact *admin* to manage this connection." instead of these actions.

Disconnecting stops Viktor's access to Slack until you reconnect. To delete your account and its data, use Danger zone below.

Delete your account

  1. Open My account.
  2. Expand Danger zone at the bottom.
  3. Select the delete button and follow the steps below for your role.

After you confirm, Viktor shows Deleting account... with "This can take up to half an hour. You can leave or close this screen now." You are then signed out.

As a member, or an admin who is not the only admin

The button reads Delete Account. The dialog Remove your account? explains:

  • "You'll lose access to integration settings, scheduled tasks, and Viktor Spaces in the dashboard."
  • "You can still talk to Viktor in Slack"
  • "Another admin can re-invite you anytime."

Type "delete my account" and select Remove my account.

As the only admin (this deletes the workspace)

If you are the last active admin, deleting your account also deletes every team member and the workspace contents.

The button reads Cancel Subscription & Delete Account, and the card warns: "Permanently remove your account, all team members, and all workspace contents. Your subscription will also be canceled."

  1. Confirm Delete your account? with Continue.
  2. Review Your team will lose all scheduled tasks. It lists each teammate's scheduled tasks that will be permanently deleted. Select I understand, delete my account.
  3. Answer "What is your main reason for leaving?" and "What would need to change in Viktor for you to stay?", type "delete my account", and select Delete my account.

To keep the workspace running without you, make another teammate an admin first. See Team members and roles.

Limits by plan and permission

  • Anyone can delete their own account.
  • Only admins can disconnect or uninstall Slack.
  • Usage pages are admin only. Audit logs and personal spend limits are admin only and need Enterprise.

Common problems

  • You want to leave a team but keep using Viktor elsewhere: ask an admin to remove you from the Team page.
  • The delete button says "Cancel Subscription & Delete Account": you are the only admin or the subscription owner. If you are the only admin and the team should stay, make someone else an admin first.
  • Signed out right after deleting: that is expected. Deletion continues in the background.
  • Security reviews and compliance documents: see Security, compliance, and data protection.
  • More on deletion: Delete your account and data.
