Delete your account and data
How to delete your account, files, and conversation history.
You can delete your account and personal data yourself, including workspace files, conversation threads, and related records.
How to delete your account
- Go to Settings > Account.
- Scroll to the bottom and click Delete account.
- Confirm to start the deletion.
If you need to delete workspace data rather than just your own account, the request may need to come from a workspace admin or account owner.
What happens to your data
- Data is removed from active production systems, typically within about 30 days.
- Encrypted backups age out on their normal rotation, currently around 35 days.
- Derived data such as indexes or embeddings is deleted or disassociated from the underlying data.
Disconnecting Slack stops new data collection but does not by itself delete data already stored, so delete your account if that is your goal.
