What can your AI employee do in Tailscale?
Viktor, the AI employee, connects to your Tailscale tailnet with an OAuth client your tailnet admin creates, limited to devices and auth keys. He lists your machines with their tags, addresses, operating system and when each was last seen, opens a single machine, and creates single-use, tagged auth keys so a new server can join. He can also remove a machine from the tailnet. Changes wait for your approval in Slack or Teams.
Trigger: Viktor can react when a new machine joins your tailnet. He checks the device list every five minutes.
Permissions: the OAuth client needs two scopes, Devices: Core and Keys: Auth Keys. A client missing either one is refused at connect, with the missing scope named. Viktor does not ask for DNS, policy file, user or log scopes.
Tools: two named Tailscale tools, list machines and get one machine, plus Tailscale's API v2 within the scopes your admin gives the client, which is how he creates auth keys and removes machines.
Setup: a tailnet admin opens Settings > Trust credentials in the Tailscale admin console, creates an OAuth client with those two scopes and pastes its client ID and secret when Viktor asks to connect Tailscale. Disconnecting removes the client from Viktor; delete it in Tailscale to revoke it. This is not one-click OAuth: you create the client yourself and paste its ID and secret.
