Use your own domain for a Space or docs
Serve a Space or your workspace's published docs on a domain you own.
You can put a Space or your workspace's docs on your own domain, such as app.yourcompany.com or docs.yourcompany.com. It works with any DNS provider. You add two records: a TXT record that proves you own the domain and a CNAME record that routes traffic. You don't need to change nameservers.
Add a domain to a Space
- Open the Space from Spaces and go to its Settings.
- Under Custom domains, enter the domain and click Add domain.
- Add both DNS records shown at your DNS provider, then click Check.
The Space must be deployed to production first. The custom domain serves the production version. You can also ask Viktor to set up the domain for you.
Add a domain for docs
- Open Docs and click the Docs settings button at the top.
- Under Custom domains, enter the domain and click Add domain.
- Add both DNS records at your DNS provider, then click Check.
Your published docs then open on your domain, each at the same path, for example docs.yourcompany.com/weekly-report. Only workspace admins can manage docs domains.
What the status means
- Waiting for DNS: add both records, then click Check. DNS changes can take a few minutes to spread.
- Issuing certificate: you own the domain and the secure (HTTPS) certificate is being set up. Check again in a minute or two.
- Live: the domain works.
- Failed: fix the issue shown and click Check again.
To stop using a domain, click Remove.
