## What Viktor does in Slack

Viktor is an AI employee who works inside your Slack workspace. Message him in a DM, or @mention him in a channel and he replies in the thread. He uses your other tools to do the job, then posts the finished work back in Slack: a report, a cleaned-up spreadsheet, an updated CRM record, a drafted follow-up. Anything sensitive waits for your approval first.

Slack is not one of his tools. It is where he works, the same way it is where your team works.

- Direct messages: he replies to every message.
- Channels he is a member of, public or private: @mention him and he answers in a thread.
- Group DMs: he replies when @mentioned.
- Threads he is part of: he follows along and decides when to answer.
- Slack Connect channels with other companies: his posts are previewed privately to you first.

## Day-one work in Slack

What teams hand to Viktor in the first week, set up in plain English. No workflow to build.

- **Weekday morning brief** (Weekdays 8:00 · #leadership): Yesterday's signups, revenue and open support tickets, posted to a channel every morning. Set up once as a scheduled task.
- **Monday pipeline report** (Every Monday 9:00 · #sales): A pipeline report built from your CRM, posted to the team's channel as a Slack canvas or a PDF.
- **Thread follow-ups** (@Viktor summarize yesterday's #sales thread and flag what I need to follow up on): He reads the thread, checks the CRM and drafts the follow-up for your approval.
- **Ad spend check** (@Viktor which campaigns are over budget this week?): He pulls spend and results from your ad accounts, flags what is over budget and proposes changes that only run after you click Approve.
- **Request intake** (New post in #support-escalations): He watches a channel for new requests, logs each one to your tracker and tags the owner.
- **File in, file out** (@Viktor check this against last quarter's numbers): Drop a spreadsheet or a contract PDF in a DM and get back a cleaned-up Excel file with formulas, uploaded into the conversation.

## Everything he can do from Slack

- **He remembers your team**: Workspace memory keeps what has been decided, who owns what and how you like things done.
- **Canvases and Lists**: He creates and edits Slack canvases and Lists, and sets who can see them.
- **Files both ways**: Send him PDFs, Word, Excel, PowerPoint or images. He sends back finished Word, Excel, PowerPoint and PDF files.
- **Scheduled tasks and triggers**: Recurring reports and checks in plain English, or work that starts when a message is posted or another app fires an event.
- **You decide how hard he thinks**: Add !fast for a quicker reply or !deep for a deeper one. !stop ends a run, !mute quiets him in a thread.
- **Private integrations**: He uses only the tools you connect. Keep a connection to yourself, or share it with the people and groups you pick.
- **Standing instructions per channel**: "In this channel, always answer in German." He keeps it.
- **Chat in the web app too**: Slack-linked accounts can also talk to Viktor in the Viktor web app.

## You stay in control

- He acts as the person asking: he only reads what that person can see, and never private channels or DMs they are not in.
- Admins choose who can use Viktor, whether guests can, the rules for shared channels and who Viktor can DM.
- Approval cards (Approve / Reject) appear before sensitive actions. Joining channels, changing settings and spend limits always need approval.
- Admins can set any tool to "needs approval" or "forbidden", and decide who may connect or edit integrations.
- SOC 2 Type 1 certified, Type 2 in progress. Your data is never used to train models.

## Viktor in Slack: FAQ

### How do I add Viktor to Slack?

Sign up at app.viktor.com/signup, choose "Continue with Slack" and approve Viktor on Slack's screen. Then pick the channels he joins (all public channels, or specific ones) and send him a first message. A Slack admin does the install, and it takes about two minutes. Viktor is listed in the Slack Marketplace.

### Is Viktor a Slack AI agent?

Viktor is an AI employee. Rather than answering inside a chat window, he works like a teammate: you ask in Slack, he does the work in your other tools and posts the finished result in the thread. Sensitive steps wait for your approval.

### How is Viktor different from Slackbot and Slack AI?

Slackbot and Slack AI summarize, recap and search what is already in Slack. Viktor does the work that lives in your other tools: he pulls the numbers, updates the records, builds the file and posts it back. Many teams use both.

### Does Viktor read all my Slack messages?

No. He reads messages in channels he is a member of, so he knows what was said, and he only answers when asked or in threads he follows. When he searches, he acts as the person asking and only sees what that person can see. He cannot see private channels or DMs that person is not in, and private channels need an /invite.

### Can my whole team use Viktor, including in shared channels?

Yes. One Viktor serves the whole workspace and anyone can mention him. In Slack Connect channels shared with other companies, his posts are previewed privately to the person asking first, unless an admin switches that channel to auto-send. Admins can limit who uses Viktor and who he can DM.

### Will Viktor act without my approval?

Not for sensitive actions. Money moves, code pushes and customer emails wait for an approval card in Slack. Some actions always need approval, such as joining or leaving channels and changing workspace settings, and admins can set any tool to "needs approval" or "forbidden".

### What tools can Viktor use from Slack?

Any of 9,800+ tools, including HubSpot, Salesforce, Notion, Linear, Jira, Stripe, GitHub, Google Workspace, Google Ads and Meta Ads. You can keep an integration private to yourself and the people you add.

### How much does Viktor cost?

Start free with up to $100 in credits, no credit card. The Team plan is $100 a month for 40,000 credits shared across the whole workspace, with no per-seat charges. Installing in Slack is free on every plan.

### Does Viktor also work in Microsoft Teams and Discord?

Yes. Viktor works in Slack, Microsoft Teams and Discord. You can add Discord to your Slack workspace's Viktor from the Integrations page, and he keeps the same memory and tools there. A Slack workspace and a Teams workspace are separate: history and memory do not move between them automatically, so pick the one your team works in.

### Is my data secure?

Yes. Viktor is SOC 2 Type 1 certified, with Type 2 in progress, and GDPR aligned. Data is encrypted in transit (TLS 1.2+) and at rest (AES-256). Each workspace is isolated, credentials are injected at run time so the AI model never sees your keys or tokens, and neither Viktor nor its model providers train on your data.
