## What Viktor does in Discord

Viktor is an AI employee who works inside your Discord server. @mention him in a channel or send him a DM, and he replies to your message. He uses your other tools to do the job, then posts the finished work back in Discord: a report, a file, an updated record, a drafted announcement. Anything sensitive waits for your approval first.

He only reads messages that mention him and your DMs with him. The rest of your server's conversation never reaches him.

- Server channels: @mention him and he replies to your message.
- Direct messages: he replies to every message.
- While he works, an hourglass reaction shows he is on it.
- Several servers with Viktor? In a DM he asks which one you mean.
- Scheduled reports can post to a server channel or a teammate's DMs.

## Day-one work in Discord

What teams and communities hand to Viktor in the first week, set up in plain English. No bot to code.

- **Weekly community report** (Every Monday 9:00 · #team): Signups, revenue and open support tickets from last week, posted to a channel as a scheduled task.
- **Launch announcement** (@Viktor draft the release notes from this week's merged PRs): He reads the changes in GitHub, writes the notes and posts them after you approve.
- **Support follow-up** (@Viktor log this bug report and tell me who owns it): He files the issue in your tracker with the details from the message and tags the owner.
- **File in, file out** (@Viktor clean up this spreadsheet and add a summary tab): Drop a file in a DM and get the finished version back in the reply.
- **Research on request** (@Viktor compare the three tools we talked about and recommend one): He researches the options, writes up the trade-offs and posts a short recommendation.
- **Numbers on demand** (@Viktor how did yesterday's campaign do?): He pulls the results from your ad accounts and analytics and replies with the numbers that matter.

## Discord bots and Viktor

Most Discord bots run one job inside your server. Viktor does the work that lives in your other tools and brings it back to Discord.

| Product | Type | Best for |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Server bots | Moderation, roles and server upkeep | Keeping a server tidy: roles, welcomes, moderation |
| AI chat bots | Chatbot in a channel | Answering questions inside the conversation |
| Viktor | AI employee | Finished work across 9,800+ tools, on request or on a schedule, posted back to Discord |

Categories describe common kinds of Discord bots, October 2026.

## Everything he can do from Discord

- **He remembers your team**: Workspace memory keeps what has been decided, who owns what and how you like things done.
- **Files both ways**: Send him files in a message. He replies with finished files attached, and splits long answers so nothing gets cut off.
- **Scheduled work**: Recurring reports and checks set up in plain English, posted to a server channel or sent as a DM.
- **Approve or Reject in the chat**: Before anything sensitive runs, he posts Approve and Reject buttons. Approve, and he carries on.
- **Same Viktor as in Slack**: Already use Viktor in Slack? Add Discord to the same workspace and he keeps the same memory and tools.
- **Chat in the web app too**: You can also talk to Viktor in the Viktor web app, signed in with your Viktor account.

## You stay in control

- He reads only messages that mention him and DMs sent to him. He runs without Discord's message content access, so the rest of your server stays out of his view.
- He asks for a short list of server permissions: view channels, send messages and thread replies, embed links, attach files, read message history and add reactions.
- Approve and Reject buttons appear before sensitive actions, and admins can set any tool to "needs approval" or "forbidden".
- Removing Viktor from your server ends his access to it.
- SOC 2 Type 1 certified, Type 2 in progress. Your data is never used to train models.

## How to add Viktor to Discord

Someone with permission to manage your server adds Viktor once. You don't need Slack or Teams.

1. **Sign up and pick Discord**: Go to app.viktor.com/signup, pick Discord as the place your team works and create your account with your email and the code we send you.
2. **Add him to your server**: Discord opens its own screen. Pick your server and authorize Viktor. He posts a welcome message in the server.
3. **Already use Viktor in Slack?**: Open Integrations in the Viktor app and connect "AI Employee (Discord)" instead, so Discord joins the workspace you already have.
4. **Give him the first task**: Mention @Viktor in a channel or send him a DM. Connect your other tools as you go.

## Viktor in Discord: FAQ

### How do I add Viktor to Discord?

Sign up at app.viktor.com/signup, pick Discord and create your account with your email and a sign-in code. Discord then asks you to pick a server and authorize Viktor. If your team already uses Viktor in Slack, connect "AI Employee (Discord)" from the Integrations page instead.

### Do I need Slack or Microsoft Teams to use Viktor in Discord?

No. A Discord-only team can sign up and use Viktor without Slack or Teams. If you do use Slack, Discord can join the same Viktor workspace.

### Is Viktor a Discord AI agent?

Viktor is an AI employee. Rather than answering inside one channel, he works like a teammate: you ask in Discord, he does the work in your other tools and replies with the finished result. Sensitive steps wait for your approval.

### Does Viktor read all the messages in my server?

No. He only receives messages that @mention him and DMs sent to him. He runs without Discord's message content access, so other conversation in your server never reaches him.

### Can I DM Viktor in Discord?

Yes. He replies to every DM. If you are in more than one server with Viktor, he asks which one you mean. If you share no server with him yet, he asks you to mention him in a server first.

### What permissions does Viktor ask for in my server?

View channels, send messages, send messages in threads, embed links, attach files, read message history and add reactions. He does not ask for Discord's privileged access to message content, members or presence.

### Will Viktor act without my approval?

Not for sensitive actions. Money moves, code pushes and customer emails wait for Approve and Reject buttons in Discord, and admins can set any tool to "needs approval" or "forbidden".

### Is this the same as the Discord connector in the integrations list?

No. "AI Employee (Discord)" puts Viktor in your server so you can talk to him there. The separate Discord tool connection only lets him send messages to a channel. Most teams want AI Employee (Discord).

### How much does Viktor cost?

Start free with up to $100 in credits, no credit card. The Team plan is $100 a month for 40,000 credits shared across the whole workspace, with no per-seat charges. Adding Viktor to Discord is free on every plan.

### Is my data secure?

Yes. Viktor is SOC 2 Type 1 certified, with Type 2 in progress, and GDPR aligned. Data is encrypted in transit (TLS 1.2+) and at rest (AES-256). Each workspace is isolated, credentials are injected at run time so the AI model never sees your keys or tokens, and neither Viktor nor its model providers train on your data.
