Ask Viktor to remind you about something, or to follow up later, and he comes back to the same conversation at that time. A reminder fires once. For anything that repeats, use a [scheduled task](/docs/scheduled-tasks) instead.

## What a reminder does

- At the time you asked for, Viktor picks the original conversation back up with its full history and does what you asked: reminds you, nudges someone, or checks on something.
- A follow-up can be set to happen only if nobody has replied in the meantime. If someone replies first, the reminder is skipped.
- Times are read in your time zone unless you name another one.

## Set a reminder

1. In the conversation you want Viktor to come back to, ask him. For example:
   - _"Remind me tomorrow at 4 PM to send the contract."_
   - _"Follow up with Filip on the hiring plan on Thursday if he hasn't replied."_
2. Viktor confirms the time he will come back.

## See and cancel reminders

In chat, ask Viktor to cancel the reminder.

In the web app:

1. Open [Tasks](https://app.viktor.com/settings/tasks) and select **Calendar**.
2. Pending reminders show as one-off entries, marked **Reminder** in the legend.
3. Select a reminder to see what Viktor will do and when. A follow-up that skips on a reply shows "skipped if the conversation moves first".
4. Select **Cancel reminder** to cancel it.

## Limits

- A reminder can be set at most a year ahead.
- A single conversation can hold up to 8 pending reminders. Cancel one before adding more.
- You see and cancel only the reminders that were set for you. A teammate's reminders are not shown to you.

## Common problems

- **Viktor says the time is more than a year away.** Pick a closer date.
- **Viktor says the conversation already has too many pending reminders.** Cancel one, from the calendar or by asking Viktor, then try again.
- **The follow-up never came.** If you asked for a follow-up only when nobody replied, a reply in the conversation cancels it.
- **You asked for "every week".** That is a recurring schedule, so Viktor sets up a [scheduled task](/docs/scheduled-tasks) instead of a reminder.
