Viktor can publish a report, plan, chart or write-up as a web page with a stable link. A page is a single HTML file: it can be interactive in the browser, but it has no database or server logic, and it shows the data from when it was published. For an app that stores data or pulls live data, ask for a [Space](/docs/spaces) instead.

## Publish a page

1. Ask Viktor in Slack, Teams or the web app: _"Publish this quarter's pipeline review as a page."_
2. Viktor publishes the page and replies with its link and a note on who can open it.
3. When he shares the page in a conversation, a preview image of it usually follows in the thread shortly after.

To update a page, ask Viktor to republish it. Republishing under the same name updates the page at the same link, so a scheduled task can keep a recurring report current. The previous content is kept as a version.

### Start from the web app

1. Open [Pages](https://app.viktor.com/pages) and select **New page**.
2. Pick a starting point, such as **Weekly report** or **Data deep-dive**.
3. You land in chat with the prompt filled in. Send it, and Viktor publishes the result as a page.

**New page** only appears when web chat is available in your workspace.

## Choose who can open a page

Each page has one of three access settings:

- **Workspace members** (the default): "Only signed-in members of your workspace can open this page."
- **Specific people**: "Only the page's access manager and the people picked below can open this page."
- **Public**: "Anyone with the link can view and share this page." Viktor only makes a page public when you confirm it may be open to the internet.

To change it, open the page from [Pages](https://app.viktor.com/pages) and pick an option under **Who can open this page**, or ask Viktor. Changes apply without republishing.

Members-only links don't show a preview when pasted in chat. That's why Viktor posts a preview image separately.

## Manage pages

[Pages](https://app.viktor.com/pages) lists the "Reports, dashboards, and write-ups Viktor publishes for you as web pages".

- Filter by creator (**My pages** or **Everyone**) and by access.
- Select several pages to set them to **Workspace only**, **Make public** or **Delete** in one go. Making pages public asks you to confirm: "Anyone with the link will be able to open them."
- Each page's menu has **Copy link**, **Share**, **Duplicate**, **Edit** and **Delete**.

### Rename a page's URL

1. Open the page and edit the **URL slug** (lowercase letters, digits and hyphens, up to 60 characters).
2. Select **Save** and confirm **Rename this page's URL?**.

The old link redirects for signed-in workspace members. Anonymous visitors to a public page must use the new link.

### Restore an earlier version

1. Open the page and select **Show** next to **Version history**.
2. Select **Preview** to look at a version, then **Restore**.
3. Confirm **Restore this version?**. The current content is kept as a snapshot, so you can restore it back.

The 10 most recent previous versions are kept.

### Transfer the manager role

Every page has an **Access manager**, normally the person it was published for. To hand it over, open the page, use **Transfer to…** under **Access manager**, and confirm **Transfer the manager role?**.

### Delete a page

Select **Delete** in the page's menu and confirm **Delete page?**. The page "will be deleted and its URL stops working immediately. This cannot be undone."

## Workspace page settings

Workspace admins manage these under the **Settings** tab of [Pages](https://app.viktor.com/pages):

- **Pages address**: the address your pages are published at. When a readable address based on your workspace name is available, an admin can select **Move pages to {hostname}** and confirm with **Move pages**. Links to the old address keep working; they redirect.
- **"Made with Viktor" badge**: show or hide the small badge on pages. Turning it off applies to future publishes. Already-published pages keep it until they are republished.
- **Custom domains**: serve all of the workspace's pages on your own domain, such as `docs.yourcompany.com/weekly-report`. You add a TXT record and a CNAME record at your DNS provider, then select **Check**. One domain covers every page; a single page can't have its own domain. Opening the domain's root takes people to the Pages overview.

## Limits

- A page is one self-contained HTML file of up to 2 MB. Images and scripts must be inline or loaded from full `https://` URLs; relative file paths don't load.
- Only the page's access manager and workspace admins can change its access, rename it, transfer the manager role, restore versions or delete it. Others see "Only {name} and workspace admins can change access. Everyone on the team can view these settings."
- Anyone who can open a page can duplicate it.
- The **Settings** tab is for workspace admins only. Other members see "Admins only".
- The **Orphaned** creator filter, for pages with no access manager, is shown to workspace admins only.
- Custom domains count toward the workspace's limit of 20, shared with [Space custom domains](/docs/space-access-and-domains).

## Common problems

- **The page looks broken or images are missing.** The page probably points to files by relative path. Ask Viktor to inline the images or use full URLs, and republish.
- **The page is too large.** Pages are capped at 2 MB. Ask Viktor to compress images or split the page.
- **A teammate can't open the page.** Check **Who can open this page**. With **Specific people**, add them. Someone signed in to a different workspace lands on an access-denied page; see [Space access and domains](/docs/space-access-and-domains#the-access-denied-page).
- **The data on the page is out of date.** Pages don't update themselves. Ask Viktor to republish, or to [republish on a schedule](/docs/scheduled-tasks).
- **You can't see the Settings tab controls.** They are for workspace admins.
