Viktor connects to [Kit](https://kit.com) (formerly ConvertKit) through Kit's own sign-in. Once connected, anyone you share the connection with can ask Viktor to work in Kit from Slack, Microsoft Teams or the Viktor app.

## Before you start

- You need a Kit account on a paid plan. Kit only lets apps use its API on paid plans; on a free plan the sign-in works, but Viktor's requests are refused.
- You sign in as the Kit user whose account Viktor should work in. If your Kit login belongs to several accounts, Kit asks which one to connect.

## Connect Kit

1. Open [Integrations](https://app.viktor.com/integrations) and search for **Kit**.
2. Select the **Kit** card. Give the account a nickname and choose who can use it (see [Connect your tools](/docs/connect-your-tools#choose-who-can-use-it)).
3. Select **Continue to Kit** and sign in to Kit.
4. Kit shows a consent screen saying the app is requesting access to your account, with the account to connect underneath. Select **Grant access**.
5. You land back on Integrations, where Kit now shows as connected.

Kit has a single permission level, so the connection can read and change everything in the account you choose. Viktor still asks for your approval before any change (see below).

## What you can ask Viktor to do

- Find, create, update and unsubscribe subscribers, and filter them by engagement
- Create tags, tag and untag subscribers, and add subscribers to forms and sequences
- Create custom fields and set their values
- List segments, broadcasts and their stats, and draft new broadcasts
- Import or update large lists with Kit's bulk endpoints, for example when you move from another email platform
- Run automations when something happens in Kit, such as a new subscriber, a tag being added or a broadcast being sent (see [Event triggers](/docs/event-triggers))

Every change to your Kit account (creating, updating, tagging, unsubscribing, sending) waits for your approval in chat before it runs. Reading data does not. See [Approvals](/docs/approvals).

## Importing many subscribers

Kit's bulk endpoints take subscribers in batches. Viktor sends batches of up to 100, which Kit processes immediately and answers with any failures per subscriber. A 60,000-subscriber import is about 600 requests, well within Kit's limit of 600 requests a minute per connection.

Bulk create does not set tags or custom fields. Viktor creates the subscribers first, then tags them and sets their fields in separate bulk steps. Kit asks to be told before a very large import, so contact Kit support first if you are importing tens of thousands of subscribers.

## Disconnect or revoke access

- In Viktor, open the account on [Integrations](https://app.viktor.com/integrations) and disconnect it (see [Manage integrations](/docs/manage-integrations)).
- In Kit, you can revoke Viktor's access at any time from the Kit App Store's installed apps. Viktor then asks you to reconnect the next time it needs Kit.

## Troubleshooting

| What you see | What to do |
|---|---|
| Viktor says Kit refused a request with a 401 | Your Kit plan no longer allows apps (for example, a trial ended), or access was revoked in Kit. Upgrade the plan or reconnect. |
| Viktor says Kit is rate limiting | Kit allows 600 requests a minute per connection, and Viktor keeps each connection under 500, so very large jobs take a little longer. Wait a minute and ask again. |
| The account needs to be reconnected | Kit's sign-in expired or was revoked. Reconnect from the account's card on Integrations. |
